Fox Sports analyst Chico “America’s Greatest” Bandera has made a name for himself with his comedic, humorous style and passion for the game.
Banderacas name has become synonymous with the “America” brand in recent years and in 2018 he announced he would be taking a break from the sport after his last show in 2018.
He now joins the Fox Sports 1 family as a “Chico Bancha” to air on the network.
Banchas name is synonymous with “chico”, which is the Italian word for the Chico Bergonzi, one of the best-known athletes in history, and has become a familiar sight throughout the sports world.
Bareras character has earned him an impressive following across the globe, including a stint on “The Simpsons” for six seasons.
The 30-year-old also has a knack for capturing the “chic” and “unique” personalities of sports personalities in a way that makes them relatable to millions of people.
“I’m very honored to be joining Fox Sports and to be an official Chico ambassador,” Banderes father, Chico, said in a statement.
“I’m excited to see what we’ll do together.”
Banderas name was one of three on the “The Sportsman of the Year” shortlist and was a finalist for the 2018 Heisman Trophy, which was handed to Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Baderas is the only athlete in the entire sport to be named a semifinalist in three of the past four years.
Banchas son, Anthony, was also named a finalists for the Heisman Trophy in 2016 and 2016, as well as the NCAA Division I Coach of the Century award in 2016.
Fox Sports 1 will air every Friday on FOX at 7:00 p.m.
ET and Fox Sports 2 at 6:00 a.m., with coverage of all college football, basketball and tennis.
